Sarawak Energy Berhad is an energy development company and a vertically integrated power utility with a vision to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for Sarawak by meeting the region's need for reliable and renewable energy—providing electricity to 3 million Sarawakians in urban and rural areas.
Built on a foundation of 100 years of experience, our role is to provide reliable, safe, and competitively-priced power. Our energy predominantly comes from Sarawak’s rich hydropower resources, making our energy supply environmentally friendly and sustainable. We are the primary electricity provider in Sarawak, with an expanding consumer base of about 750,000 account holders throughout Sarawak and a growing multidisciplinary workforce of 5,400. Sarawak Energy is the largest employer of professional Sarawak talent.
We are now taking bold steps to support Sarawak’s goal of achieving developed status by 2030. Jabatan Kerja Raya Sarawak
The Department was established and led by the "Inspectorate of Public Works" in 1882, and subsequently headed by the "Superintendent of Public Works and Survey" in 1897, thereafter designated as Director of Public Works, Sarawak.
JKR Sarawak endured through waves of re-alignment from illustrious "Builders" to "Managers" in fulfilling the changing aspirations of the State by changing its role to that of Development Project Implementation through continual Re-organizing Human Resources, Realigning of its Organisational Set-up and upgrading of its technical competencies.
PWD's, now better known as Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Sarawak which are under Ministry for Infrastructure and Ports Development (MIPD), current core businesses are project management that includes planning, budgeting, design, pre and post contract administration, supervision, monitoring and maintenance over the contract period, operation and maintenance management of infrastructure and utilities; and engineering consultancy services.
The Headquarters (Ibu Pejabat) of JKR Sarawak is housed at Wisma Saberkas, Kuching, Sarawak. JKR Sarawak has also established 3 Regional Offices namely Southern, Central and Northern; and 12 Divisional offices in all the Divisional administrative centres in Sarawak. Besides that, JKR also has the Research and Investigation Branch, formerly known as Central Materials Laboratory (CML) at Tabuan Jaya, the Fleet Management Branch, formerly known as Central Mechanical Workshop (CMW), which is located at Jalan Batu Lintang.

Metro
Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd has been entrusted by the Sarawak Government
to transform the public road transport system in major urban areas. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Sarawak Metro’s aim is to provide urban commuters a safe and reliable mode of travel that is also more convenient, comfortable and environmentally-friendly. Sarawak Metro is the implementer of the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS). For KUTS, the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) will be at the heart of the public road transport in the State’s capital city and the Greater Kuching area. When revenue service begins in 2025, the ART in Kuching is set to become the first ART in the world powered by hydrogen fuel cells and running on virtual tracks.

Geospec was a private limited company formed in June 1988 by a group of local Engineers, Earth Science graduates to provide integrated Geological, Geophysical and Geotechnical investigation and testing services to potential clients in the Civil Engineering, mining, groundwater and other resource related industries within Malaysia and aboard. To date, Geospec have successfully completed a considerable number of specialist projects especially in Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei.
