UiTM's Diploma in Civil Engineering was established in 1967. During its initial formation, the program was offered at UiTM Perlis, Shah Alam, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak branches. However, later it was only offered at UiTM Pulau Pinang, Pahang, Johor and Sarawak. Throughout the years, the program evolved in aspects of teaching and learning. Outcome based-education (OBE) in teaching and learning was implemented to improve the quality of the students, to monitor the levels of outcomes expected from the courses through propagation of quality teaching which will result in meaningful learning experiences for the students. Hence, curriculum review was done periodically for the Diploma program due to dynamic changes in program outcomes to ensure that program fulfills the minimum standards for accreditation from Malaysian Qualification Agency and Engineering Technician Accreditation Council (ETAC).The faculty has a long history of producing distinguished graduates who have contributed substantially of the development of the infrastructure in Malaysia. More than 40,000 graduates from the Diploma program produced all over Malaysia.
